FUNERAL THURSDAY

Funeral services were held Thursday from the First Presbyterian Church for Mrs. Eliza Fuller Greer with Rev. E. H. Overcash and Elder W. L. Allen serving as the officiating ministers. Burial followed at Rest Haven with the E. L. Almand Company in charge of arrangements.

Serving as pallbearers were Mell Cleaton, Neal Whitley, Monroe Knight, J. B. Higginbotham, John Robert Greer, Robert Knight, Harry Knight, and Hal Higginbotham.

Mrs. Greer died last Wednesday at her home near here following an illness of several years. She was 89 years old.

Born in Walton County Sept. 3, 1864, Mrs. Greer was the daughter of the late Monroe Fuller and Frances Cleaton Fuller. She was a devout and consecrated member of Alcova Mountain Church for over half a century and at the time of her death was the oldest member of the congregation. She was a member of one of the country's most prominent and respected families.

Mrs. Greer was the widow of the late R. C. Greer, who died 54 years ago.

She is survived by five children, who are: Mrs. Mann Knight, Miss Bobbie Greer, Mrs. Blanton Higginbotham, E. Bay Greer and Thomas Greer, all of Monroe. Twelve grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren are also survivors.
