Ruth E. Soran Mace
Eagle [ID] - Scriptural vigil services for Ruth E. Soran Mace, 83, Route 3 Eagle, who died Dec 23, 1981, in a Caldwell hospital, will be conducted at 7:30 p.m. Monday in Flahiff Funeral Chapel, Caldwell, by the Rev. Gerald Funke of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Caldwell. Mass of Christian Burial will be concelebrated at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary's by Funke and the Rev. Merle J. Fisher, S.M., of St. Paul's Catholic Church, Nampa. Interment will follow in Emmett Cemetery.
She was born April 23, 1898, in Kellogg, Iowa, to William and Emma Allum Hill. In 1903, she moved with her family to New Plymouth. In1908, she moved to Middleton and in 1912, to Emmett. She was educated in these areas and Boise. She married John Joseph Soran in 1914 in Eagle. They farmed near Emmett until moving to Boise. He died Dec. 30, 1932. In 1937, she moved to Caldwell. She was a cook for Caldwell memorial Hospital and several restaurants in the Boise Valley. She married Grover C. Mace in 1948 in Eagle. He died in 1963. she was a member of St. Matthew's Catholic Church, Eagle, and the St. Matthews's alter society.
Survivors include five sons, Robert J. and Leo B. Soran, both of Twin Falls, Bill M. and Dan D. Soran, both of Caldwell, and Patrick F. Soran of Modesto, Calif.; a daughter, Mrs. Harold (Therese) Hopkins of Caldwell; a sister, Ferne Fuller of Spokane; 28 grandchildren; and 39 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sons, a daughter, a granddaughter and three great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at the chapel from 1 to 6 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday.
