Elsie Mae Sutton, 85, of Scottsburg, Indiana, died Wednesday, January 12, 2011 at Clark Memorial Hospital in Jeffersonville, Indiana.

She was born on March 18, 1925 in New Albany, Indiana, the daughter of the late Charles Samuel and Eva Winona (Maymon) Krieger.

She owned and operated a beauty salon from her home for years and also worked at several other local beauty salons, was a former secretary for Scottsburg City Hall and Scott Memorial Hospital. Elsie Mae was a member of the First Baptist Church in Scottsburg, Indiana, Scott Memorial Hospital Guild, O.E.S. Chapter # 107 where she was also Past Worthy Matron, Psi Iota Xi Sorority, Young In Heart Homemakers Club and the Red Hat Society.

Survivors include a son, Larry (Cyndi) Sutton of Jamul, California; a daughter, Cathy (Rex) Hastings of Ellettsville, Indiana; a daughter-in-law Barbara Sutton of Louisville, Kentucky; a sister, Elva Cook of Louisville, Kentucky, 7 grandchildren, James Ross, Larry Sutton, Jr., April Sutton, Christi Kline, Lauren Weber, Ryan and Olivia Hastings and 12 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Sutton; a son, Richard Sutton and 3 sisters, Frances Hough, Gladys Blankenbaker and her twin sister, Velsie Fae Hatton and two brothers, Bill & Joe Krieger.

Funeral Service: 2:00 pm on Saturday at Collins Funeral Home with burial in Scottsburg Cemetery. Visitation: 4 to 8 pm Friday and 11 am to 2 pm Saturday at Collins Funeral Home. An Eastern Star Memorial Service will be held at 7:00 PM Friday at Collins Funeral Home
