She was born in October of 1802 in the State of New York.
She married Alfred Phelps on the 29th day of March, 1823, and settled on the farm in the spring of 1824, and lived there until her death.
Mrs. Phelps would have been married 57 years had she lived until the 29th of March next.
She was the mother of seven children who all married and had families.
She had been a member of the Methodist Church for many years.
Mrs. Phelps died on the 1st of August, at 6:10 o'clock, mourned by a host of friends, as everybody knew her and only knew to love her. She was like a mother to all who knew her--always having a kind word for everyone.
She was attacked with cholera morbus on Saturday night and died on the following Friday evening.
Reverend Jacob Norton, which was her request some days before she died, officiated the service.
She was followed to the grave by a large congregation, and buried in the Robert's Chapel Cemetery.
