Word was received in this city Saturday that James Morgan, a brother of "Billy" Morgan, of this city, and the father of Miss Adelaide Morgan, had died in Los Angeles very suddenly. The word received here was a very brief telegram, and was sent to Dr. W. W. Williams, with the request that he notify the brother, who has been confined to the Blessing hospital for over ten years.

The Morgan family was one of the pioneer families, and to many of the "old-timers," the name is a well known one. The decedent was a son of General James D. Morgan, and was about 72 years old at the time that death claimed him. He was born in this city, and spent his early life here, finally removing to the East, where he lived for a great many years near Boston.

About eight years ago, he went to Los Angeles, and since that time, he has made his home with his daughter Adelaide, who has been keeping house for him. His wife died in that city some years ago, and he has another married daughter living there.

According to the word received, the decedent was in a bank when death came to him, and his sudden passing has been a severe shock to everyone who knew him. There is only one of the Morgans left in Quincy, and that is "Billy," who is old and feeble, and who has been confined in the place mentioned above, for many years.

James Morgan had many old friends here, who will regret to learn of his sudden passing.
