Grace Lincoln's Family Book
Mrs. Gratia Lincoln
With much sadness of heart, we record the death of an old friend and neighbor, Mrs. Gratia Lincoln, which occurred at her home, Friday evening, July 14th.
This termination to a serious illness was not wholly unexpected, but was none the less shocking to her sisters and dear friends when the truth was learned.
Mrs. Lincoln was loved and respected by all with whom she came in contact. She joined the M. E. Church at the age of 16 and was 89 years old when she died.
She has met with many trials and hardships, but she never forgot that Christ was her Friend and she kept her faith and served Him to the end and we trust that she is now happy with Him in that better land, where she will have no more trials nor sorrows and her poor, old, crippled hands and feet will be made straight and beautiful in the home of God.
She was a kind and loving mother and a very patient sufferer for a long time.
She leaves two sons, two daughters, two brothers, three sisters and a host of friends to mourn her death but me thinks I can hear her say, "Weep not for me, for I am at rest. God's will be done, not ours." O.I.B.
