Walter Pike
Dies On Sunday
Death claimed Walter Pike, 84, a retired railroad man, in a local hospital here Sunday morning.
Pike was connected with the T&P railway from 1897 until 1937, when he went into retirement. He was an engineer much of that time.
He was born in North Carolina Oct. 14, 1868.
Survivors include his wife, three sons, Wallace, Big Spring; George, New York City; and Robert Lee, Jacksonville, Fla.; a step-daughter, Mrs. Ethel Crenshaw, Big Spring; nine grandchildren and two step-grandchildren.
A daughter and a son preceded him in death.
Pike's first wife died in 1919. He married Mrs. Eva Burleson in 1921.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Eberley-River Funeral Home at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday. Dr. R. Gage Loyd will officiate. Burial will take place in the City Cemetery.
