Philadelphia, December 27.—Capt. Horace T. Draper died yesterday of paralysis at his home in Lansdown, a suburb of this city, aged seventy-three years. Captain Draper was born July 4, 1825, at Brookfield, Mass., and at an early age entered the merchant marine, working his way upward from before the mast to a captain’s berth. Throughout the war he was commander of the Hartford, Admiral Farragut’s flagship. Captain Draper was a nephew of Simeon Draper, collector of the port of New York under President Lincoln.
