Jessie was the daughter of Shep & Lelia (McNabb) McInturff. She is buried with her first husband, Oral D. Lingerfelt. After the death of her first husband, she married Alvin White who also preceded her in death.

Jessie V. Lingerfelt White CHUCKEY, Tenn. ? Jessie V. Lingerfelt White, 84, of the Horse Creek Community in Chuckey, Tenn., died at home on April 15, 2005. She was preceded in death by her first husband, the Rev. Oral Lingerfelt, an elder in the United Methodist Church in the Johnson City District of the Holston Conference. She was also preceded in death by her second husband, Alvin White, formerly of Unicoi, Tenn. Mrs. White was a member of Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church where she was very active until her health would not permit any major involvement. She was also a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary and former member of the Horse Creek Ruritan Club. She is survived by a very loving and caring family, who all say their love and care of other people was instilled in them as children by their mother. Surviving children and spouses are shown as complete families. Daughter, Elizabeth Richards of Valdosta and children; son, Frank and Dana Richards and grandchildren Noah and Will; daughter, Betsy and Frank McTier and grandchildren Benjamin and Lauren, all of Valdosta. Son, Wayne Lingerfelt and wife, Marie of Church Hill and children; son, Randy and Roseanne Lingerfelt and grandchildren, Robert and Russell of Conroe, Texas, son, Chris Lingerfelt of Benton, Ill., daughter, Rebecca and Kevin Shelton of Church Hill, and daughter, Sara Lingerfelt and granddaughter, Kenzie Sawtelle of Church Hill. Son, Edward Lingerfelt and wife Carole of Jonesborough, Tenn. and children; son, Tim and Heather Lingerfelt of Johnson City, Tenn., and grandchildren, Amber, Devin and Holly Lingerfelt of Johnson City and great-grandchild, Katelynn of Johnson City; two stepgrandchildren, Joella and Jarissa Rice. Daughter, Kimberly and Lee Keys and grandchildren, Lindsay and Justin of Johnson City, Tenn., son, Mark and Mary Beth Lingerfelt of Unicoi, Tenn., and daughter, Kelly Lingerfelt of Charlotte, N.C. Daughter, Barbara and husband, John Tilson of Chuckey, Tenn., and son, Geoffery Tilson of Greenville, Tenn. Jessie was preceded in death by her parents, Shep and Lelia McInturff of Unicoi, Tenn.; two brothers, Gaither and Kenneth McInturff of Unicoi; and three sisters, Gertha Street of Orlando, Fla., Florence Seward of Unicoi, Tenn., and Eva Davis of Johnson City, Tenn. She is survived by one brother, Floyd McInturff and three sisters, Mabel Renfro, Virgie Ingram and Hazel Berry, all of Unicoi, Tenn., and one brother, Gene McInturff of Seymour, Tenn. Doughty-Stevens Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be from 2-4 p.m. and from 6-8 p.m., Sunday, April 17 with the funeral following in the Doughty-Stevens Chapel. Burial will be held in Andrew Johnson National Cemetery at 10 a.m., Monday, April 18, 2005. Services will be conducted by the Rev. Dr. Walt Isley and the Rev. Jamie Ferguson. Pallbearers will be the nephews. Honorary pallbearers will be Dale Waddle, Jerry Wilhoit, Lanny Love, Larry Weems, Ted Wilhoit and Terry Wilhoit.
