Son of James and Rebecca Spencer. Married Elizabeth Wagner, September 9, 1806. She was born December 16, 1780, Maryland, and died October 28, 1857, Charles City, Floyd County, Iowa.
Sold his farm in Morgan County, OH in October 1832, and moved to Licking Co OH. In 1835 the family moved to LaPorte Co IN, and in 1837 they moved to Flora Township, Boone Co IL.
In 1856 his wife moved with their daughter Rebecca to Iowa. Known children: Mary (m. Lewis Keith); James; and Rebecca (m. Isaac Newton Leaman).
