Ernest Ray Anderson, 95, St. Joseph, passed away Saturday, January 8, 2011, at a local health care center. He was born December 19, 1915, in Frazier, Mo., to Roy and Mae (Lower) Anderson.

Ray served his country on three continents in the United States Army during World War II. He worked for International Harvester Company for 30 years, retiring in 1976.

Ray was a member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church and also belonged to American Legion Post #359 and Masonic Lodge #508. He enjoyed woodworking, bowling and gardening.

Ray married Laura M. (Horn) Larsen in 1983; she preceded him in death in 2005.

He was also preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Elmer Anderson.

Survivors include: Paula (Jesse) Moad, Collinsville, Ill.; Patricia (Jon) Smith, St. Joseph; Jim Larsen, Dearborn, Mich.; Terry Larsen, Kansas City, Kan.; Matthew Larsen, Greensboro, N.C.; Mark (Jennifer) Larsen, St. Joseph; Chris Larsen, St. Joseph; numerous grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and several nieces.

Services: 11 a.m. Wednesday at Heaton-Bowman-Smith & Sidenfaden Chapel. Visitation will begin after 10 a.m. Tuesday at our Chapel, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday evening. Interment: Memorial Park Cemetery.

The family suggests memorial contributions to Noyes Home for Children.
