Shirley Ilene Weatherbee, 84, a resident of Bosque Farms, NM since 1978, died peacefully Monday morning, April 3, 2000. She was loved by all, family and friends, alike, and will be greatly missed. Shirley was born on July 31, 1915 in Floydada, TX to Lonnie and Effie Wright. Shirley is survived by her son, Richard L. Weatherbee; her granddaughters, Toni R. Wagoner, Hope Michelle Sanchez and Sammee N. Weatherbee; her great-grandchildren, Johnnie L. Chappell, Garrett K. Wagoner, Skye N. Sanchez, Hope B. Sanchez, Stormie B. Sanchez and Quade A. Sanchez; and her brothers and sisters, Lee Wright, Bill Wright, Lonnie Wright, Laura Merrick, Fay Grott, and Oleta Burton. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Gerald Wayne Weatherbee. Shirley and her husband, Wayne were the owners/proprietors of Harper's Furriers, 1425 4th St. NW, Albuquerque, for over 45 years. Visitation will be held on Friday, April 7, 2000, from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., at Fitzgerald and Son Funeral Directors. Services will be Saturday, April 8, 2000 at 10:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Fitzgerald and Son Funeral Directors, with Elder Conway Wood officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park and Mausoleum. Pallbearers will be Michael Skaggs, Lonnie Wright, Jerry Groff, Max Merrick, Al Hobbs, Orbry Wright. Fitzgerald and Son Funeral Directors, 3113 Carlisle NE, are in charge of arrangements. (Published in the Albuquerque Journal on April 5 & 6, 2000).
