Clara was born in Toldedo, Lucas County, Ohio to Jacob I. Kinsey and Harriet Lanning. She married Irving James Rook (father William Rook, mother Katherine Sullivan) and to them was born Raymond Kinsey Rook. Irving died on 14 Jun 1905 from TB. Clara was already married to Thomas Leroy "Roy" Thatcher (Wisconsin census 1 Jun 1905). Roy was a steamship captain on the Great Lakes out of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. After he retired, they managed an apartment complex in El Paso, Texas. The 1910's and 1920's had them living in San Marcial, New Mexico. They moved to Albuquerque, NM in 1930.
