Linda Elizabeth"Libby" Ancell, 80, a resident of Boise, Idaho for eight years, went home to be with Jesus on April 27, 1998. She died at the home of her son and daughter-in-law, William J. and Judith Ancell of Boise. Also present to comfort her was her other son, Robert Lee Ancell and his wife, Alyce of Saranac, MI. Libby was born August 10, 1917 in Columbia, Missouri, a daughter of Humphrey Marshall Walker and Rhoda (Crews) Walker. She was married on August 17, 1935 in Waukegan, Illinois to Marion Sylvester Ancell, also of Missouri. After 47 years of marriage, her beloved husband preceded her in death on March 8, 1982, in Albuquerque. A few years following his death, she moved to Boise to be near her family. She was a retired personnel officer of the United States Department of Agriculture. While still in New Mexico, she was a dedicated volunteer of the Widowed Persons Service. Libby was active in the Stephens Ministry of Trinity Presbyterian Church of Boise for a number of years, and served several times as president of the Columbian Club of Boise. In addition to her two sons, she is survived by five grandchildren, William Joseph Ancell II and wife, Lynn of Eugene, OR, Brian Eugene Ancell and wife, Laurie of Woodinville, WA, Mark Edward Ancell of Seattle, WA, Karen Sue Rook and husband, Wilson of New Era, MI, and Laura Lee Christensen and husband, Dennis of Midland, MI, all of them have had an opportunity to visit her within the past few months. She also leaves behind six great-grandchildren, Wilson and Austin Rook, Amanda and Joshua Christensen, and Kimberly and Jacob Ancell. An interment service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 30, 1998 at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul NE, Albuquerque. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the American Cancer Society.
