He was born on April 20, 1929 in Lincoln to Albert Leslie and Ruth Watt Atteberry. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Tommy Gene Atteberry and his sister, Emmalena King.
He is survived by his four children Dean (Julie) Atteberry, Owasso, Oklahoma; Joy (Dr. Ron) Young, Norcross, Ga.; Daniel (Pelusa) Atteberry, Sacramento, California and Sheryl (Scott) Brinson, Rancho Santa Margarita, California; six grandchildren, Nicole (Joshua) Seabolt; Phillip Atteberry; Sean and Christine Young; and Shane and Kiley Brinson and brother, Lee Atteberry, Minier.
He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War.
