Probably the Tully Times
Death of Mrs. G.A. Beeman
The sudden and unexpected death of Mrs. Geo. A. Beeman, which sad event occured on Friday of last week, was a severe shock to her friends here and elsewhere.
For several years Mrs. Beeman had been a great sufferer from tumor. Some two years ago the advisability of an operation was deemed necessary. While realizing fully the danger of an operation, she was reconciled, and left her bed for the operating table in a cheerful frame of mind, speaking words of encouragement to those present on the occasion.
Some few days prior to the event she said to her husband: "My work and care is ended. If the Lord takes me at this time, His will be done; if He spares my life, we will enjoy each others society for a time, until He calls one of us home."
With this faith she submitted to the operation, which proved fatal, as announced last week.
The deceased was born in Philadelphia, Pa., March 11, 1850, and was nearly 54 years of age at the time of her death. On March 12, 1871, she was united in marriage to George A. Beeman, with whom she lived happily until the time of her death. She leaves, beside a husband, one child, a daughter, Miss Mary E. Beeman, a teacher in the public school on Long Island; and a granddaughter, Grace Russell, who resided with them.
Mrs. Beeman was a member of the Baptist church, Tully, a consistent christian, a loving wife and mother and a most esteemible lady, one with hosts of friends, all of whom sincerely mourn the loss of one whom they dearly loved.
The funeral, which took place on Sunday last, was largely attended by sorrowing relatives and friends. Her pastor, Rev. J.W. Huff, of the Baptist church, paid a glowing and deserved tribute to her worth as a christian wife and mother. Interment in Tully.
