The Church of Christ at Farlin was organized June 28, 1891 with the following charter members; Peter Mosteller, wife and Ruth Mosteller, Elizabeth Morlan, Mary Hurley, John and Melinda Allstott., Mr and Mrs. D. R. Tolliver, Sarah Toliver, Minnie Carter, Nettie Dickerson, Julia, Nettie and Frankie Wright, Mr. and Mrs. R. G. Seaman and Hattie Seaman, Alice Mosteller, Mary Beebe, William Hurley, Mary Hurley. Their church building was dedicated, clear of debts, June 28, 1896., by Rev. B. B. Burton of Jefferson.
The following have served as pastors of the church: Rev. Laurence McCray., W. H. Bybee, J.W. Vanderwalker, L.E. Huntly., I. E. Deweese., J. D, Forsyth., J. Goldern., W. I.
Peter Mosteller was the 4th son of John Mosteller b. 1802 Lincoln, NC and wife Christina Lasley b. 1815 KY; they lived and died in Clay Co., IN, & are buried in Calcutta Cemetery, Clay Co., IN
Peter Mosteller married Ruth Chad 6 Oct 1853 Putnam Co., IN
