Dr. Clifton Richards operated on her for appendicitis, and she died from complications. Death recorded as peritonitis, contributory: ruptured appendix. At the time of her death there were not many burials using vaults. She told her husband before she died that she wanted one. It had to be shipped from St. Louis. It was very expensive at that time. Family called her "Miss Louie".
