Mrs. Maude Ryan Dies Suddenly. Passes Away While Asleep - Heart Trouble. Mrs. Maude Keith Ryan, widow of Dr. W. P. Ryan, died unexpectedly at 9:30 o'clock Friday night at the family residence, 1159 West main street. She was fifty-eight years old last May. Her death was caused by heart trouble. She had not been in robust health for several years, but there was no indication that death was to be expected soon. She died peacefully while asleep.
Mrs. Ryan's maiden name was Maude Keith. She was born in Fenelon Falls, Ontario, Can., May 24, 1870. She and Dr. William P. Ryan were married in Kenosha, Wis., May 27, 1897. They came to Decatur in 1898. Dr. Ryan died here a few years ago. Mrs. Ryan was a charter member of the Westminster Presbyterian church. She was well known and had many friends in Decatur and vicinity.
She is survived by the following children: Misses Helen and Miram Ryan of Decatur, Mrs. Lindsey English of Springfield and Mrs. Arthur J. Morris of Decatur. She also leaves a sister and five brothers, Mrs. J. H. Drynan of Moose Jaw, Canada, G. W. Keith of Toronto and James, Arthur, William and Clinton Keith all of Saskatchewan, Canada.
The body was taken to Dawson & Wikoff, funeral directors, and prepared for burial.
