Willard Ledford, 84, of 8205 Morningstar Road, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 13, 2000, at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Dayton. He was born in Richmond, Ky., on Sept. 9, 1916, the son of Ash and Mary (Miller) Ledford. He was a graduate of West Carrollton High School and participated in football and basketball under the legendary coach, Tom Blackburn. Mr. Ledford was a World War II veteran serving in the U.S. Navy in the Pacific theater. After the war he purchased a farm and was a prominent dairy farmer, retiring in 1974. He resided in his winter home in New Smyrna Beach, Fla., for 26 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Scott Ledford; a sister, Evelyn Andrasik; and a great-grandchild, Alyse Thumann. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Alyce (Leichty) Ledford; a son, Michael Ledford, and his wife, Heidi, of Kettering; a daughter, Judy Wilson, and her husband, John, of Germantown; a sister, Virginia Armbruster, and husband, Marty, of Kettering; grandchildren Catharine (Ledford) Jones, and husband, Bryan, Bryan Moon, and wife, Amy, and Amy Thumann, and husband, Matt; and great-grandchildren Taylor and Noah Moon and Erin Thumann.
