Mrs. Vida Ruth Simmons Love, 65, died at the Talmadge Memorial Hospital in Augusta Thursday after a short illness.

She was a Bulloch County native and member of the historical First African Baptist Church.

She is survived by two sons, Bobby Love, Cincinnati, Ohio, and Billy Love, Los Angeles, Calif.; four sisters, Mrs. Juanita Dowling and Ms. Julia P. Simmons, both of Statesboro, Mrs. Dorothy Williams, Philadelphia, Pa., and Mrs. Annie Givens, savannah; three brothers, Rexie V. Simmons, Trenton, N.J., Lonnie Simmons Jr., Statesboro, and the Rev. H.L. Simmons, Stilson; two grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

The funeral service will be held Monday at 3 p.m. at the Historical First African Baptist Church with the Rev. Nelson Dukes officiating. Burial will be in the Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery. Payton's Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
