Charlise Lolarine ‘Lorine' Harris

Graveside services for Charlise Lolarine "Lorine" Harris, 82, will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 9, 2011, at Holly Pond Cemetery, the Rev. Horace Hall officiating.

Holly Pond Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Harris died Friday, Jan. 7. She was born in Cullman County to Charley G. and Pauline Burks Keaton. Growing up in the Fairview community, she was a 1947 Fairview High School graduate and was self-employed as a seamstress. She was also a member of First Baptist Church in Holly Pond. She began her married life on Jan. 18, 1947, and was married to him for 62 years. She began sewing and making crafts at an early age. She and her family enjoyed trips to Guntersville Lake and spending time on the family farm. She traveled to Lions Clubs' events in Atlantic City, N.J., and was active in the Cullman County Cattlewomen's Association. She volunteered her time and talents as a 4-H club leader. She was also a member of the Holly Pond Homemakers Club, volunteered for the American Cancer Society in Cullman County; was on the Cullman County Farm Bureau Women's Committee; and probably will be best remembered as the manager of the Holly Pond Swimming Pool and her professional sewing for the public.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dalton Harris; and her parents.

Survivors include a son, Doug (Lynn) Harris; two brothers, Samuel Keaton and Charles (Faith) Keaton; and a brother-in-law, Alvin (Louise) Harris.
