Funeral services for Fred M. Adair, Sr. of Texas City, who died after a short illness in a Texas City hospital at 10 a.m. Tuesday, were held in the First Christian Church in Texas City at 2 p.m. Wednesday.
Burial will be in San Angelo on Friday at 2 p.m. with graveside services to be conducted by the minister of the South Side Christian Church in San Angelo.
Mr. Adair was born in Floyd but lived in Greenville for many years. He moved to San Angelo in 1950 where he resided until the death of his wife, the former Maude McElroy of Greenville on Oct. 27, 1975.
He was preceded in death by his wife, parents and one brother. He had been an active memer of the Christian Church for many years.
He was a veteran of World War I.
Survivors inlcude one son, Fred M. Adair Jr. of Texas City; two grandsons, Steven Adair of Houston and Kirk Adair of Texas City, one granddaughter, Mrs. Wayne Henderson of Texas City, two great grandsons and four greatgranddaughters.
Adair was the brother in law of Mrs. Nettye West, Mrs. Myrtle Wilson and Mrs. Georgia Bowden of Greenville and Mrs. Clifton Thomas of San Angelo.
