MAPLETON, Iowa — Larry Martin Davis, 59, of Mapleton died Friday, July 23, 1999, at Burgess Memorial Hospital, Onawa, Iowa.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. John's United Methodist Church in Mapleton, with the Rev. Bob Fritzmeier officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery, with military honors provided by American Legion Loren Hollister Post 496 of Mapleton. Visitation will be today from 6 to 8 p.m., with a prayer service at 7 p.m., at Armstrong Funeral Home in Mapleton.
Mr. Davis was born May 23, 1940, at Mapleton, the son of Frank and Alice (Ridley) Davis. He grew up and received his education in the Mapleton community where he continued to live his entire life.

He served in the United States Marine Corp.

He married Kay Burgess on June 15, 1968, in Onawa, Iowa. He worked for Lloyd Olson Construction as a heavy equipment operator.

He was a member of the Handy Man Club of America.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Roger of Carroll, Iowa, and Randy of Mapleton; two daughters, Annino Collison and Pat Eneboe, both of Lake View, Iowa; seven grandchildren: Nicole, Joseph, Megan, Tadd, Jeremy, Travis, and Garrison; a brother, Lyle "Ernie" Davis of Sioux City; two sisters, Eldonna Feldhacker and Shirley Rodman, both of Onawa; and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Leslie; and a sister, Ardith.
