Local News January 5 1910, Newspaper published in: Alturas, "Wedding Bells": We neglected (last week) (Dec ? 1909) to mention the marriage of Wm. Murr(a)y and Mrs. Eli Dale, both of Likely. The ceremony was performed in Alturas by Justice Baldwin, in the presence of a very few friends, and took place at the home of Wm. Beck of this place. Chico Daily Enterprise, Saturday Evening, September 7, 1929, (pg. 4): "Mrs. Murray Plans To Sell Stock. Durham -- Mrs. Margaret Murray, widow of the late William Murray, has decided to dispose of the dairy stock and farm equipment on their ranch in the south part of the Land Colony and to move to the former Thornton home on Park road, which she and her husband purchased last spring. Plans have been made for an auction sale to take place September 13. At the request of Mrs. Murray and her sister-in-law, Mrs. Willis Elsemore of Aberdeen, Washington, who is visiting her, W.A. Walker has charge of the dairy ranch and five of the neighbors, J.L. Sears, E. Graven, H.B. Ashworth, S. Lasell and E.A. Curtis have been asked to sit in an advisory capacity in the management of the Murray sale."

Twenty-six head, including calves and young stock, $2850. There were about 300 in attendance at the sale. The committee in charge included E.A. Curtis, H.B. Ashbaugh, G.C. Graven, W.M. Walker, J.B. Sears and Sam Lasell, who had charge of serving of the lunch. Ralph Baxter acted as clerk."
