Gertrude B. Plummer, 98 died Jan. 20, 2004 at a Pittsfield health care facility following a long illness. She was born in Woburn Mass. January 18, 1906 the daughter of Roscoe A. and Fayette (McPherson) Barden. She was a graduate of Brooks High School and of the Augusta General Hospital School of Nursing where she received her R.N.
She was married to Milton Plummer who died July 13, 1964.
Mrs. Plummer was a member of the High Street Congregational Church in Newport and also a member of the Alliance of the Church. She was a member and Past Matron of Nokomis Chapter #42 Order of the Eastern Star Newport. She was also a past District Deputy of District 16. A few day before her death Gertrude was presented a certificate for being Newport's oldest citizen.
She is survived by three sons; Ronald C. Plummer of Newport and Florida Howard A. Plummer of Zephyrhills Florida and Alvin B. Plummer of Leesburg Florida, five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by a grandson.
Burial will be in the family lot Riverside Cemetery Newport. (Brown Funeral Home on-line)
