Mr. Brantley was a native of Emanuel County, the son of the late Gordon Harris Brantley, Sr. and the late Viannah Bell Fortner Brantley. He was a Civil Service -16 Retiree from Robins Air Force Base, after 34 years of service, where he served as the Aircraft Items Unit Chief for C-130's and C-141's. Mr. Brantley was a member and former treasurer of the Harrison Baptist church, a former teacher for the Young Adults Sunday school and a member of the Senior Sunday School Class. He was predeceased by his wife, Billie Mae Cawthorn Brantley and a son, Gordon J. "Rocky" Brantley.
Survivors include his sons, Michael Clark Fulghum of Sandersville, Rex K. Brantley and Van Harris Brantley both of Harrison, a daughter, Sherry Rose Brantley Clark of Macon, 14 Grandchildren and several Great Grandchildren.
