Ezra was one of 12 children born to Jacob Kersh and Rachel Easstering. Jacob served in the war of 1812. Jacob brought Rachel and 10 children to Mississippi in a covered wagon in 1833. Ezera and his little brother Richard Enos was born in Mississippi.
Ezra married Josephine Frances Matthews. This couple had 8 children.
