The son of William McMillan and Julia Ann Penrod. His first wife (my grandmother) was Margaret 'Maggie' (King) McMillan. Two children: Alex Clifton and Harold LaVerne McMillan (died an infant). They were married 19 Jun 1920.

Second wife was Donna 'Donnie' Beatrice Belt. Two Children: Robert Lee and Betty June (McMillan) Bell. They were married 19 Dec 1924. They divorced and she remarried.

Third wife was Velma Walker. Velma and Hallie were married 23 Oct 1954. They had no children. She was married four times: Francis Lee Reichert m. 1940, Hallie McMillan m. 1954, Clare F. Fleming m. 1979 and William Herbert Rushing m. 1980.

Grandma Velma was my step-grandmother, but she was my grandma. I loved her! She was the only grandmother on my father's side that I even knew. He loved her very much too. She was so upbeat. Played the piano by ear and loved to play lively music. She was a great cook and such a kind and loving person. I miss her!

My grandfather was a coal miner for a short period of time. He was a car mechanic at one time also.
