Ronald W. "Ron" Amick, 59, of Huntington, IN, Thursday, Nov. 5, 2009, at 3:17 p.m. at Parkview Huntington Hospital.

He was born Jan. 18, 1950, in Huntington, to George and Lucille Teusch Amick. He married Deborah Nowels on Dec. 26, 1981, in Huntington. She survives.

Mr. Amick was employed with Huntington Community School Corporation for 13 years as an electrician. Prior to that, he was employed as a maintenance supervisor at Majestic Corp. in Huntington. He was also a self-employed contractor. He attended SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church.

Additional survivors are two sons, Rye N. Amick, of Huntington, and Colin N. Amick, of Fort Wayne; a daughter, Claire N. Amick, of Huntington; a brother, George Amick, of Huntington; and three sisters, Judy (Jim) Rosen, of Andrews, Kathy (Terry) Denton, of Huntington and Debbie (Mike) Pace, of Brighton, MI.

A memorial service wil lbe held Saturday, Nov. 21, 2009, from 3 p.m to 6 p.m. at Horace Mann Elementary School, 2485 Waterworks Rd., Huntington. A short eulogy will be delivered at 3:30 p.m., followed by refreshments and shared memories and stories of Mr. Amick.

Preferred memorials are gifts to the Claire Amick Education Fund.
