Mrs. Harriet L. Darling, 77, a lifelong resident, died last Thursday afternoon, August 28, 1947, at her home in DeRuyter, following quite a long period of illness from a heart ailment.
Born September 16, 1870, at Cuyler, Mrs. Darling was the daughter of James and Esther Brown Breed. She leaves no immediate relatives.
Hattie Darling, as she was known by all was, up until she was stricken with the heart ailment a hard working and industrious woman, and her friendly disposition and pleasing personality, endeared her to a host of friends who will miss her greatly.
Funeral services were conducted from the Smith Funeral Home, DeRuyter, at 2:00 o'clock Sunday, the Rev. Victor W. Skaggs of Plainfield, N.J., officiating. Burial was made in Hillcrest cemetery.
