"Springville --- Funeral services for Jesse H. Whiting, 76, of 1300 E. Center St., Springville, who died Tuesday, July 1, 1980, will be Saturday at 11 a.m. in the Springville LDS Stake Center, 245 S. 600 E.
"He was born Nov. 16, 1903, in Springville, the son of john Hall and Mary Ellen Clegg Whiting. He married Helen Salisbury on June 28, 1928, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
"He graduated from Springville High School and attended Brigham Young University. Active in the LDS Church, he served a mission to the northwestern states, had served in ward bishoprics, as stake high priest president, Sunday School superintendent, YMMIA president, teacher in many church organizations and in scouting programs.
"Survivors include his wife, four daughters, Mrs. Ronald (Ann) Allan and Mrs. Bruce (Kathy) Rees, both of Springville; Mrs. Allen R. (Mary Lou) Liefson, Spanish Fork; Mrs. Jerry (Linda) Braun, Pacific Grove, Calif.; 14 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; three brothers and two sisters, Ray W. Whiting and Mrs. Howard (Mary) Sanford, both of Springville; Mark C. Whiting, Las Vegas; Jack Whiting, Cedar City, and Mrs. Frank (Marjorie) Fullmer, Blackfoot, Idaho.
"Bishop Blaine Thorn of the Seventh Ward will officiate at the services. Friends may call at Wheeler Mortuary Friday from 7 to 9 o'clock or Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in Springville Evergreen Cemetery."
