Daughter of John and Helen (Claypool) Dotson.

Edgar was born in Olin Iowa. His parents were Mr and Mrs Benjamin Bascom. He married Sara L Dotson(Sept 10,1874-Aug 6 ,1952). Marriage date was Feb. 14,1892. There were five children brought into this Union. They were Charlie(1893), John (1894), Flora (1896), Albert(1898) and Virgil (1902). Sarah died during child birth in 1916.
