Funeral services for Willie E. Long, 81, of Twiggs County, who died Friday, January 3, 2014, at the Coliseum Hospital, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, January 5, 2014, in ElSharath Baptist Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Mr. Long was a life-long resident of Twiggs County, the son of the late Willie B. Long and Leila Mae Long. He was preceded in death by a son, Alan Darryl Long, Sr.; a brother, Hobert Long and sister, Hazel Bryant. He was a former employee of Macon-Bibb Manufacturing, a former construction worker, a retired employee of Twiggs County road department and worked for Mr. Welton Moore and Mr. Pete Brown.

Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Thelma Long of Twiggs County; daughter, Patricia (Ben) Dominy of Dublin; four grandchildren, William (Bill) Dominy of Cadwell, Kerri Ashley Sellars of Dublin, Felicia Kinard of Danville and Alan Darryl Long, Jr. of Athens; five great-grandchildren, Raven Dominy, Jennica Watson, Annaleigh Watson, Bradley Sellars and Savanna Kinard; sister, Pat (Luke) Sanders; brothers, Henry Long and Dick Long. The family will meet friends after the service. He will lie in state from 1:00 until 2:00.
