CHARLEY BATTERN DIED SUDDENLY AT COUNTY FARM LATE FRIDAY AFTERNOON - Charley Battern, age 62, an inmate of the county farm, was found dead about 4 o'clock Friday afternoon and Justice of the Peach W R Hatkins, who held an inquest over the body, rendered a verdict of death from natural causes. Battern had apparently died from an attack of heart trouble.
Charles Battern was born and reared in Parker County and had lived here the greater part of his life. However, he had lived in other parts for a number of years, returning about five years ago. His parents moved to Parker County in the early days of its history and family was among the first settlers in the section between Dennis and Brock.
Deceased is survived by three brothers; Fronce Battern and E L Battern, both of Fort Worth and D H Battern of Millsap.
