Mr. Bobo was born March 16, 1930 in Gray Court, SC, to the late Charles Ralph Bobo and Vivian Martin Bobo. He was an original board member of Young's Fire Department, where he served as President. In 1989, the William Bobo family received an award as the Farm Family of the year in Laurens County. He was appointed the area representative for Laurens School District #55 Board of Education for many years, and was a director of Piedmont Rural Telephone Coop. He was the owner and operator of Bobo's Meats & Groceries, and worked many years with Hunters Brothers Construction Company. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, but his main passion was farming. He was a life-long member of Friendship Baptist Church.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are two sons, Ralph Bobo and wife, Rita, and John Bobo; a daughter, Mary Edge and husband, Eric; two step-sons, Steve Gray and Stanley Gray and wife, Susan; a sister, Helen B. Bryson; a sister-in-law, Frances Bobo; three grandchildren, William Charles Bobo, Martha Cecile Bobo, and Jesse Edge; four step-grandchildren, Mitch, Amanda, Melissa, and Todd Gray; several nieces and nephews; and his faithful dog, Joe.
He was predeceased by his first wife, Martha Hughes Bobo; and two brothers, William Martin Bobo and Charles Ralph Bobo, Jr.
