Clifton Glaze
Clifton Darwin "Dolly Glaze, 67, 1414 A St., who worked for the Hood River Postal Service for 34 years, died Nov. 10 at Hood River Memorial Hospital.
He was born May 18, 1915, in Hood River to Clifton and Monta Glaze. He graduated from Hood River High School in 1933 and served as a Marine Corps corporal during World War II. He worked for the Hood River Postal Service from 1936 to 1979, working his way up from sub-carrier to assistant postmaster. From 1951 to 1957, he was owner-manager of Glaze's Café and Vintage on the Heights. He was a volunteer firefighter for 30 years and an ambulance driver for 21. He was a longtime member of the Elks and American Legion.
Survivors include: his wife Della of Hood River; a son, Terry Darwin of Ohio, and a sister, Juanita Schroeder of Albany.
No public funeral service will be held. Anderson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
