Mrs. John O. (Maline Caroline) Swenson, who has lived at New Richland since 1936, died at the Naeve Hospital early yesterday morning.
She was 80 years old and had been in failing health for some time.
On Oct. 31 she hada stroke.
Born August 6, Mrs. Swenson was the daughter of Knut and Betsy Knutson of Freeborn County.
She grew up on a farm east of Hartland.
She was baptized and Confirmed. at the West Freeborn Lutheran church.
She married John O. Swenson October 30, 1893 at Blooming Prairie.
He survives her.
They farmed near Blooming Prairie until 1911 and purchased a farm at Bath at that time where they lived until moving to New Richland in 1936.
Four sons survive:
Palmer and Selmer east of New Richland
Joel and Bert at home.
Two grandchildren;
Gerald and Elaine Swenson survive.
One sister: Mrs. Clara Johnson, lives at Willeston, North Dakota
Two brothers;
Sivert and Lewis Knutson
Sisiter: Mrs. Betsy Erickson preceded er in death
The funeral will be at the Trinity Lutheran church in New Richland, Saturday at 2 p.m.Burial will be at the St. Olaf Cemetery, New Richland.
