Our beloved husband, father, and grandfather Chad H. Sorensen returned to his Heavenly home Nov. 13, 1995 ending a courageous battle with lymphoma, with his loving wife and family at his side.
He was born January 20, 1924 in Glenwood, Utah to James Elmer and Mattie Bell Sorensen. He married Christena LaVerne Bagley May 24, 1943 in the Manti LDS Temple. He served in the US Navy in the South Pacific during World War II. After returning home, he moved to Utah County and retired from Geneva Steel after 37 years. He was an active member of the LDS Church. He served in the bishopric, High Council, Young Mens, the Sunday School presidency, and a High Priest Group leader. He loved camping, hunting, and fishing. He especially enjoyed going to Arizona each winter with his beloved wife and friends. He loved his wife, children, and grandchildren, he looked forward to every occasion they could be together.He is survived by his loving wife, LaVerne, children: Chad Brent of Salt Lake City, Mrs. Robert Berthelson (Annette) of Alamorgordo, New Mexico, Mrs. David L. Martin (Kris) of Orem, Utah, Ronald James of Spanish Fork, Utah, Mrs. Michael L. Juggert (Sherry Lynn) and Kerry Bryce of Magna, Utah, 25 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; a sister, Belle Heilesen, and brothers, Wayne, Junius, Harold, and LeGrand. He is preceded in death by his parents, a brother Fred H., a great-grandaughter Catherine Taylor Parry.
Funeral services will be held Friday, Nov. 17, 1995, at 11 a.m. in the Sharon Park 7th Ward Chapel, 85 East 700 North in Orem. Friends may call Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Sundberg-Olpin Mortuary, 495 South State St. in Orem and also Friday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the ward chapel. Burial will be in the Orem City Cemetery.
