Mrs. Elizabeth Piper, of Harrisburg, whose funeral took place on Wednesday 18 inst., was the youngest daughter of George and Jane White. She was born in Fayett county, Pa., February 9th, 1827. United with the Baptist church of Donegal in 1841; was married to J. Piper May 11, 1843, moved with her family and husband to Iowa in the spring of 1857; united with the Mt. Zion Baptist church, of which she was a faithful and consistent member until Jan. 16, 1882, when it pleased God to remove her from the church militant to the church triumphant in heaven. She was the mother (of) ten children, nine of which are still living to feel the loss of an affectionate mother and loving companion. The funeral was attended by a large concourse of sympathizing friends and neighbors to the grave, after an appropriate sermon by her Pastor Eld. D. L. Clouse.
Children: Eliza; Samuel; Amanda(married James Denis Childs-divorced); Jane; Fanny; Nancy; Mary E.; Rebecca; from the 1860census. Emma; Lille on 1870census. All 9 girls and one boy!
