Mrs. Cora Coffman was born December 24, 1873, in Brown county, Kansas, near White Cloud, died at her home seven miles northwest of Osceola, Iowa, Aug 2, 1899, aged twenty-five years, seven months and nine days. She was married to Matt Coffman January 21, 1892, and to this union three children were born - two daughters and one son. One of these, Siddie, preceded her mother to the better land at the age of two years, two months and seven days. Deceased leaves a husband, one daughter, two years and seven months old, one little boy, three months old; a mother, one sister and many other friends to mourn her loss. She was a loving wife and tender mother, and beloved by all who knew her. She united with the Missionary Baptist church at the age of ten years, living a true and faithful Christian every since. The funeral services were held at the Ottawa church at 11 o'clock August 4, 1899, conducted by Rev. Clark, of Woodburn. The husband more than thanks the neighbors for their kindness and favors rendered to him and family, and feels that he never can repay them.
