Kathryn attended Muncie Community Schools. She was a homemaker. Kathryn was a member of Memorial Drive Wesleyan Church. She had served as a Sunday school teacher, CYC director, fellowship director and reading course sec. She enjoyed for many years decorating cakes for family and friends. Kathryn made her children and grandchildren's wedding cakes. She finally retired from decorating in 1988.
Survivors include one daughter, Sharon Wheeler (husband-Homer); six grandchildren, Cathy Frey (husband-Rick), Tim Furney (wife-Jacqueline), Tamara Furney, Cheryl Furney, and Keith Wheeler (wife-Connie); six great-grandchildren, Megan, Jared, Monica, Dustin, Skylar, and Shayna; and four great-great-grandchildren, Jayden, Jordan, J.J. and Landyn.
Kathryn was preceded in death by her loving husband whom she married on Julu 16, 1934, Roy Furney; a son, Marvin Furney; one brother; one sister; and a grandson, Kevin Bickel.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday at Memorial Drive Wesleyan Church with Pastor Johnnie Blair Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Friday at Parson Mortuary.
