Sikeston - Elwood R. Kinder Sr., 80 years old, of Sikeston, died Wednesday at the Missouri Delta Medical Center.
He was born Feb. 25, 1914, in Scott City, the son of Ernest and Clara Shumate Kinder.
He first married Pauline "Polly" Keesee, who died Nov. 8, 1970. He and Ila Beck Underhill were married Dec. 24, 1973.
He was the owner and operator of Nancy's Sweet Shop from 1948-1974, and was a former member of the Retail Baker's Association of America.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Elwood Kinder Jr.; two stepsons, Earl and Mike Underhill; a sister, Ruby Brant; a grandson, two great-grandchildren; six step-grandchildren and four step-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sons, five brothers and two sisters.
Funeral service will be held Saturday at the Nunnelee Funeral Chapel here. Burial will be in the Garden of Memories Cemetery.
