Graveside service for Fred P. King, Jr, 78, of Snellsville, Ga, will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Decatur City Cemetery with Roselawn Funeral Home directing.
A memorial burial Mass will be Wednesday night at 5:30 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Huntsville.
Mr. King died Friday in Atlanta of natural causes. He was born Jan. 28, 1917, in Connecticut.
He was the first president of the New Orleans Jazz Society and a former drummer with the Cooper Wells Jazz Band in Decatur. He also was a retired salesman, working out of New Orleans and Houston.
He is survived by one son, Russell King of Snellsville; and two sisters, Kathleen Allford of Huntland, Tenn, and Dorothy P. Byrne of Norwich, Conn.
