Tony was born at Sturgeon Lake MN on December 24, 1888.
He was the first white male born in the Sturgeon Lake area. He was married to Tillie Joblonski at Sturgeon Lake on May 7, 1911. He farmed about three and a half miles southwest of the village until his retirement in 1956. since that time they have lived in the village of Sturgeon Lake and he was assisted his son, Chester, on the operation of the filling station until his health started to fail about two years ago. He has been active in the affairs of the St. Isidore Catholic Church and had served the church as treasurer for ten years. He was Fire Warden for Sturgeon Lake Township for 32 years. His father served as the first county commissioner from the Sturgeon Lake area.
Surviving are his wife, Tillie, of Sturgeon Lake; seven daughters; (Helen) Mrs. Edward Pletrek of Sturgeon Lake, (Irene) Mrs. Ernest Cleveland of Hopkins, (Adeline) Mrs. Paul Dahlstrom of Lacrosse, WI, (Margaret) Mrs. Warren Taylor of New Brighton, (Bernice) Mrs. Harry Mullen, (Lorraine) Mrs. Warren Nagel, and (Clara) Mrs. Harry Janisch, all living in St. Paul; six sons; Chester of Sturgeon Lake, Robert of Bloomington, Florian of Sturgeon Lake, Leonard of Castleberry, Florida, Donald of Coon Rapids, Jerome of St. Paul; one sister; Mrs. Wanda Joblonski of Chicago, IL 44 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
Casket bearers were Alan Chmielewski, Florian Chmielewski, Jr. Michael Mullen, Dennis Pietrek, Kenneth Cleveland and Alan Taylor.
Interment was in the St Isidore Cemetery
Arrangements were by the Hamlin Funeral Home of Moose Lake
