HOLLEY, Russell, 85, of Rocky Mount, died Sunday, September 21, 2003 in a Roanoke hospital. He was a member of Fairview Church of the Brethren and an U. S. Army veteran of WW II. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Nellie C. Holley; brothers and sister-in-law, Silas Holland, Rocky Mount and John P. and Mary Holland, TX; sisters-in-law, Nell C. Holland, Salem (twin sister to Nellie Holley), Nellie Y. Holland, Rocky Mount, Janice B. Holland, Glade Hill; nephews, Jack Holland, Darrell Holland, Salem, Walter and Barbara Clingenpeel, Boones Mill; special caregivers, Trudy Crowe and daughter, Kristi, Rocky Mount; numerous other nieces and nephews; special church family, Fairview church of the Brethren. Funeral services will be conducted from Flora Funeral Chapel 2 p.m. Tuesday with Rev. Robert Williard officiating. Interment will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Roanoke. The family will accept flowers or memorial contributions may be made to Fairview Church of the Brethren Building Fund c / o Paul Bussey 51 Falcon Ridge Road Rocky Mount, VA 24151. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Flora Funeral Service, S. Main Street, Rocky Mount. The family would like to say a special thank you to their church family for the many acts of kindness and support during his illness.
