Edward Hammatt was an architect. He designed several structures for the Episcopal Diocese of Iowa, including Kemper Hall at Iowa College (now Davenport Central High School) and Trinity Episcopal Churches in Ottumwa and Mapleton, Iowa. He also designed the entry gates for Oakdale in 1895.
