Frederick Arnold, Jr.

Frederick Arthur Arnold, Jr., 73, of 268 15th, died Monday at the Veterans Hospital in Salt Lake City after an extended illness. Mr. Arnold was born Dec. 9, 1895, in Ogden, a son of Frederick Arthur and Abigail Hayes Arnold. On Oct. 22, 1919, he was married to Lillian Burton in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. A lifelong resident of Ogden, he had worked for the George A. Lowe Co., Zion's Wholesale Grocery and Hill Air Force Base.

During World War I he served with the Army He was a member of World War I Veterans, Barracks 1011, and former member of Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was an elder in the 10th LDS Ward and was a former Sunday School teacher and home teacher.

Surviving are his widow, one son and three daughters, Robert F. Arnold, Harrisville; Mrs. Clifford (Barbara Jeanne) Walston, Mrs. Cyril (Shirley) Hanzelka, Mrs. Billie (Beverly Elaine) Cottle, all of Ogden; 12 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two brothers and four sisters, Vernon Arnold, Bert Arnold, Mrs. Susan Burch, Mrs. Roy (May) Clawson, Mrs. Ernest (Abbie) Balch, all of Ogden; Mrs. Oren (Nina) Newey, Salt Lake City. Funeral services will be held Friday at 1 p.m. in Lindquist and Sons Colonial Chapel with Bishop Mark Bott of the 10th Ward conducting. Friends may call at the mortuary Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m.and Friday until services.
