MRS. STEPHENSON DIES SATURDAY
Funeral For Mrs. Katherine Stephenson Held Near Willow Springs
WAS 73 YEARS OLD
The funeral of Mrs. Betsy Katherine Stephenson, widow of the late Haywood Stephenson, who died Saturday night at eleven o'clock was held at her home near Willow Springs Sunday afternoon at three o'clock and burial took place in the family cemetery near the home.
Mrs. Stephenson, who was 73 years of age, had been in declining health for the past year. She suffered a bad case of pneumonia in January and had never fully recovered.
A large crowd of relatives and friends gathered for the final rites which were conducted by Elder Floyd Adams at her home Sunday afternoon.
Mrs. Stephenson was the daughter of the late Elijah and Susan Keene Parrish of Pleasant Grove township. She was married to Haywood Stephenson in 1878 and to this union were born thirteen children, ten of whom survive. Two children died in infancy and one daughter, Mrs. J. E. Stephenson, died two years ago. The children who survive are as follows: Mrs. J. L. King, of Angier; Mrs. J. O. King, of Willow Springs; Mrs. Minnie E. King, of Angier; Mrs. G. W. Partin, of Angier; Mrs. W. F. Barnes, Benson; Mrs. Floy Stephenson, Willow Springs; Mrs. Agnes R. Johnson, Willow Springs; Mrs. L. E. Woodall, of Willow Springs; and W. P. Stephenson, of Willow Springs. Two half-sisters, Mrs. Della McGee, of Angier, and Mrs. Flora Allen, of Richmond, Va., survive; also two half-brothers, Ed Parrish and Marshall Parrish, both of Angier.
