Abiram Echtinaw was born in Mahoning County, Ohio in 1847 to Peter and Rebecca Echtinaw. In 1855 at the age of seven years, the Echitnaw family and their eleven children moved to Ovid Township, his father dying in November of that year. He married Kathern Yerks in 1883. A longtime resident of Ovid Township, Abiram died in 1910 from paralysis.
